If a document needs changes, contact the sender before you sign. After you verify your email, you can use the response options on the signing page.

Ask a question

  1. Verify your email from the request.

  2. Expand Conversation.

  3. Enter your message in Write a comment.

  4. Select Post comment.

The sender and verified participants can see the conversation. A comment does not change the document or replace your signature or approval.

Decline a request

  1. Select Decline request.

  2. Enter a Reason that explains why you cannot continue.

  3. Select Decline this request.

Declining closes the request. Your reason is recorded for the sender. You can close the page after the confirmation appears.

If you only need clarification, use the conversation or contact the sender before you decline.

Assign the request to someone else

This option appears only when the sender allows reassignment.

  1. Select Assign to someone else.

  2. Enter the New recipient name and New recipient email.

  3. Enter a Reason.

  4. Select Send to new recipient.

The new recipient receives their own invitation and must verify their email. Your old signing link becomes invalid.

If the option is missing, ask the sender to update the recipient. If the request has already closed, contact the sender about the next step.
